At the Dolores Huerta Foundation (DHF), we believe that every human being—regardless of birth country, zip code, or legal status—deserves to live, work, and thrive free from fear. Immigrant justice is not a fringe issue; it is a fundamental pillar of civil rights, labor rights, and collective liberation. Rooted in the rich history of agricultural worker movements across California’s Central Valley and the nation, our mission is to organize communities, build collective power, and demand the full dignity that every person inherently holds.

Human Dignity and Constitutional Rights: We reject the criminalization and racial profiling of Latine, Indigenous, and ALL immigrant communities. The Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Fourteenth Amendments protect everyone within U.S. borders, and we equip our people with the knowledge to assert those rights boldly.

Workplace & Labor Freedom: From farmworkers harvesting our food to custodians, caregivers, and warehouse staff, immigrant labor sustains our society. Safer workplaces, fair wages, and the right to organize belong to all workers, without exception.

Community Self-Determination & Deep Listening: True transformation comes from the bottom up. We center the voices of workers, youth, and families to shape community-driven solutions, building leadership through our grassroots Vecinos Unidos committees and youth programs.

Our Campaigns and Grassroots Action
1. Resisting Interior Enforcement & Building Community Defense (Kern County Rapid Response Network)
We actively oppose the expansion of militarized law enforcement and Border Patrol in our Central Valley neighborhoods. To directly shield our families from aggressive immigration sweeps, DHF proudly serves as an active partner in the Rapid Response Network of Kern. Through a 24/7 community hotline, rapid-dispatch legal observers, and immediate family support, the network monitors ICE activity in real time, documents civil rights violations, and ensures no family faces immigration raids alone. Neighborhoods must be safe spaces and no one should fear going to work, school, or the store because of the color of their skin.

2. Know Your Rights & Defense Education
Through our Red Card initiatives, we educate community members on how to interact safely with Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs). We empower individuals to remain calm, refuse unconsented searches, remain silent, and protect their families by understanding their constitutional guarantees.
3. Dignity Not Detention
We organize to dismantle private, for-profit detention centers like California City that profit off human suffering. Partnering across state and regional networks, we demand an end to ICE detention and the reunification of families.
