Akib Rahman

DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Akib Rahman is a dedicated public policy and development professional committed to advancing social justice through strategic fundraising, community-centered policy, and grassroots empowerment. He currently serves as a Development Coordinator at the Dolores Huerta Foundation, where he leads fundraising strategies, strengthens donor engagement systems, and supports mission-driven initiatives that uplift underserved communities through civic engagement and community organizing.
Akib brings a robust background in policy, research, and nonprofit management. Prior to joining the Dolores Huerta Foundation, he served as a Development Associate at Daley Strategies, where he supported nonprofits and government agencies in securing critical funding for initiatives ranging from youth development to transportation equity. His earlier roles include working as a Nonprofit Management Specialist at StepUp America and a Capacity Building Fellow at the Liberty Hill Foundation, where he helped build infrastructure and training tools for emerging organizations and civic leaders.
Akib holds a Master of Public Policy from UCLA’s Luskin School of Public Affairs and dual Bachelor’s degrees in International Studies and Political Science from UC Irvine. As a first-generation college graduate from a working-class immigrant family, Akib’s lived experience fuels his passion for breaking down systemic barriers and promoting equity through both policy and philanthropy.
When he’s not organizing spreadsheets or advocating for change, you’ll find Akib cheering for Real Madrid (Hala Madrid!), playing Call of Duty with friends, or searching for his next favorite Netflix binge.
