Established in 2003, DHF’s mission is to inspire and organize communities to build volunteer-driven organizations empowered to pursue social justice. DHF conducts movement-building at the intersections of race, class, sexuality, and economic status to address harmful and discriminatory practices affecting marginalized individuals and families in the Central Valley and beyond. To fulfill this mission, DHF employs grassroots organizing, advocacy, leadership development, and strategic communications that challenge harmful narratives and amplify community voices.
