The staff of the Dolores Huerta Foundation is deeply saddened by the horrific violence and hatred directed towards our gay-Latino brothers and sisters in Orlando, Florida. We send our most heart felt condolences and are holding up the victims, their families and loved ones in our prayers. In the face of this tragedy those of us committed to social justice need to be courageous and stand united. This massacre highlights the urgent need for us to make our communities safer by confronting homophobia and trans-phobia, challenging racism, pushing for stricter gun control laws, and advocating for improved mental health services. We have to work to eliminate violence through promoting peace and always remember that our strongest weapon against hatred is love. The most powerful tool we have is through organizing and educating our communities. !Si Se Puede!
