URGENT Call to Action: Kern County Board of Supervisors Meeting, Tues. 2/27/18, 9am
We are sending out this URGENT Call to Action to ask our friends and supporters to turn out tomorrow morning to let the Kern County Board of Supervisors know that we have waited long enough for justice and won’t be denied any longer!
When: Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 9 am
Where: Kern County Administrative Center, First Floor Board Chambers – 1115 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, CA
In 2011, the Kern County Board of Supervisors drew up a redistricting plan that was struck down in a recent decision. According to U.S. District Judge Dale Drozd, it was not “equally open to participation by Latino voters,” as mandated by the Voting Rights Act.
We are concerned that the board will fail to act quickly on this judgment, in an effort to delay implementation until 2020. We need the community to come out strong at tomorrow’s board meeting to voice support for immediate implementation.

We are proud to stand together with you to defend democracy and the community’s right to fair and just representation!
